I’ve been telling friends for a while that “I Swipe my Safeway club card with pride”. My theory is that Safeways are collecting stats on everything, and basically know that I’m a vegetarian/vegan, and I’m happy to be counted if it’ll help get more vegan products into the store.
And it only just goes to show. We got this in the mail from Safeways just the other day.

I was browsing around tonite and stumbled across www.feedmap.net, and found a few local bloggers.
Originally, I’d been looking for a solution to changing our blogging software (b2evolution) to feed a new podcast we’re working on. Which lead me to a neighbor with the same problem (and solution), then to Steve Portigal site, who also lives in Montara.
I wasn’t going to blog any of this until I saw this on Steve’s site and just had to share.

Looks like we have our own IKEA

LA Here we come.
We were lucky to get some tickets to the PETA Gala yesterday, and today we booked our hotel and flights.
Now all I need to do is figure out a Tux. Someone recommended this place for a cheap non-woll (i.e. vegan) tuxedo. www.cheaptux.com, but not sure if I’ll just try and rent something to save some money, but $150 does seem cheap and maybe worth it.

Here’s an interesting map of most all of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the Bay Area (72 of them within 50 miles of San Mateo, or 82 in the entire UG database)

You can clearly see where the holes are.
This was produced using the Veggie Food Finder.
Note: This is just a screen grab, and the real map on the Food Finder is interactive and clickable.
